How would this system bias voting, and how is that bias similar to that found in Roman voting?

Most democracies today hold elections on the weekend or on a holiday. In the United States, the elections are on Tuesday and are not a holiday. How would this system bias voting, and how is that bias similar to that found in Roman voting?|||The best explanation that I can find is the reasoning for Tuesday was not for bias, it was for religion. Election Day was established as to not interfer with both the Jewish sabbath (Saturday) and the traditional Sunday services of churches. In addition, farmers would go and sell their crops on the busiest market day which was Wednesday. Accounting for the fact that they did not have cars and usually had to take a whole day to travel to their voting location, it was established as Tuesday.
